THANKS
This week I had fun with a Romper Room magic mirror and tried to thank all those who have left a comment recently. I really appreciate it and it really does keep the podcast going.
I also enjoyed putting the cluster map on the site and seeing where people are visiting form. I love having one listener in Trinidad, for example.

THRIFTY KNITTER
- I’ve done some reasonably successful Jelly Crystal dyeing but wanted to experiment with the Rhonda Trounce Dyes that my Mum passed on to me.
- Whilst waiting for the yarn to simmer and absorb the dye I decided to learn Tatting.
- Totusmel has some cool instructables and a utube video for tatting.
- I used them both in order to make this flower

and this more bizzare and less successful botantical specimen.

- Here is the fibre in the pot – I’m reasonably happy with the colours.

- Here is the resulting yarn

- What pattern shall I knit with it? I have about 15o metres of sportweight yarn.

INSPIRATION
- In this episode we have a look at juxtaposition as inspiration – prompted my my vision of a sheep running down a city street just near Glebe. Does anyone know what happened to the sheep?
- I visited the NSW Art Gallery – they had a cool multi media exhibition on.

It’s so good to hear you again! Wednesday is always my Big Treat of the Week Day and having your podcast to listen to made it a good Treat Day.
I loved the juxtaposition tale you told. We adults really are so polite we can suck the joy out of anything, even art, can’t we? It’s a pity. I’m going to remember to be a lot less serious as I go around this week and I hope it becomes a lasting habit.
Again–thank you for podcasting.

Wow! What a wonderful surprise!
I have a day off work today and was looking for a podcast to keep my company while ironing. I clicked on my changeling bookmark without any real expectation and was so happy to find a brand new edition! It’s lovely to hear your voice again, I especially enjoyed the magic mirror!
I’m going to listen for a second time now.
Thank you!

Wow, that episode was thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining, beginning to end. There was an underlying sense of playtime to it too, like you seemed to be enjoying creating the podcast more than usual this time. So nice to hear.
Good job on the tatting and dyeing experiments! I love the adventure of trying something new, especially without much/any investment. If it works, yahoo! If not, oh well, now I know what not to do next time. I’m going to try dyeing soon and hope my experiment turns out half as beautiful as yours did.
If you go into advanced search on Ravelry, you can click on the yarn category to limit suggestions to yardage of 0-150 and sportweight:
http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/search?r=&meterage=0|150&weight=Sport&query=&sort=popularity&view=thumblist&apply=1&add_multi=0&add_id=15&add_0=0&add_0_end=150
Hopefully that will help you find something to knit with your kettle dyed handspun!
Thanks again for the podcast!

Lovely epi, thanks.
I never saw a sheep in Glebe, but quiteoften a goat on a lead – ask Kris, she’s spoken to the chap who owns it, I think.
I rather like your tatting squiggle – even more than the perfect flower, I think (yup, I am contrary). I wonder if you could paint it with dyed like watercolour? Hmmm…

I am a terrible fan! Just got around to listening. What a wonderful episode Cath! Do you read the ModaMuse blog? That’s all Aussie art/craft, all the time. I love it.

Toni in Florida
Loved this episode! And thanks for the shout-out. I remember well the Romper Room magic mirror and my disappointment that “Toni” was never among the names. Heck, I don’t even remember hearing “Tony”! I’m weeks behind in listening to “my” various podcasts, as I listen to them in the order they were posted. I’ve just finished all of June’s episodes, which is why this comment comes so late. Hope to see you in my queue again soon.

Oh no … I finally get a chance to listen to this … and it is WAY too short! What a great episode, esp. the dentist bit LOL. I too went to the dentist for the same thing this spring/summer, and actually knitted IN THE CHAIR while waiting for the crown (yep, had to have one) glue to set. Everyone thought it was a much better idea than reading stupid celeb magazines!
Anyway, you put a lot into your podcasts — music, sounds, writing — sure we could have more (and thanks for the shout-out, too)
